its doable we would just have to do it in Fel where players are allowed to PVP. We would need to do some investigation and see how we could make it work but I am sure that YaQel would know how to go about getting it to all work, Kalren might also know how to get it to work as well.

So I do like this idea, just havent had a chance to really consider how to go about doing this but now I think I have it figured out. So lets do this.

We will have a Story Writing Contest.

Here are the guidelines:

1. Write your story in a book in the game. All work must be original, do not copy a book or movie. Make sure you give your book a title and put your name as the author so everyone knows who wrote it.
2. All stories need to be based in the time period of the game. You can base your book on KoTRT if you wish. It can even be based on a hunt that you and a friend did in the game (how you went about killing Zar, the pains of taking out Robin Hood, the trials and tribulations of completing the Ancient Spellbook Quest etc) or it can be completely imaginary as long as it is in the right time frame.
3. Please do not use other players names without getting their permission first.
4. Staff members are not allowed to be a main character in the story. You can make reference to staff members (such as hunting for The Chest of Gwenavier, the pains of Morggys Whackem Stick etc).

There is a dark brown plaster house east of Luna bank, this is the same house we used for the backpack decorating contest and for pictures with Santa. I will place a special gold colored small chest in this house.
1. When you are finished with your book please place it in a bag and place that bag into the chest.
2. Once an entry has been turned in it cannot be returned to the player.
3. All books must have a title and an authors name (which must match one of your characters but it doesn't have to be your main character). Any entries without a title or author will be disposed of and will not be considered for the contest.
4. You will have 15 days from the day contest starts to turn in your story.
5. The day the contest ends staff will review all stories. They will then be placed on display and everyone will have 7 days to vote on them.
6. There will be a golden chest with book and bag spawners for players to cast their votes with, votes should include the VOTERS name and the book title. Please do not critique the books or add additional comments to the vote books. Votes are limited to one (1) vote per account.
7. All entrants will recieve a reward. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will recieve special rewards as well.
8. Once the voting is done and winners have been announced and rewarded I will create a special library where all of the stories will be left on display for everyone to enjoy.

Okay before the shard went down I added a few new vendors out in the Outdoor Patio west of Luna. There is now a Grill Master and a Soda Jerk to go along with the Ice Cream Man.

Yall be sure to check it all out when everything is back up and running properly.

Also Im going to start working on a few new quests while we have some down time.

Woot!! We love new addicts Laz I know things have been rough with the shard lately but hopefully that will be fixed Saturday. Yall just stick with us and it will all get better!

No hun its not the guild towns. There is an issue with Gwens cable, an actual physical problem somewhere in the hardware of the cable line, modem or router not anything with the server or shard itself. The cable guys will be out Saturday to get it repaired. Hopefully it is something as simple as replacing a router or modem. Just bear with us a little longer and you will get your UO fix I promise!!!

okay guys Gwen called me yesterday evening but I didnt get the call cause i was down with a migraine.

Seems there are some problems with the cable so cable company will be out Saturday to check it out and get repairs underway. Until then the shard will probably be down.

Hopefully the tech guys get out there and its something as simple as replacing a modem or router.

We are so very sorry for the inconvenience and please be patient for a little while longer. We appreciate you guys standing by us during all of this.

Please keep an eye on the forums, when the shard comes back up there may be an IP change if they have to change out the router or modem and we will post it here with these posts as well as on the KOTRT website and in the Welcome Center section of the forums as well.

Okay everyone not sure how many of you know but the shard is back up. From what I can tell we re back to little to no lag!! see you all in the game.

About two week ago Gwen did server maintenance, when she did the scan disk said she had a corrupt file but it did not tell her the location. She went ahead and told the system to repair the problem and went on to finish the maintenance and rebooted the shard when it was finished. She thought the problem had been fixed but ever since we have developed some horrible lag. Today Gwen was unable to do anything on line, websites would not load, the lag on the shard was getting worse and worse, staff members and players alike have been unable to log in.

She decided for the security and safety of the shard that it was best to run the maintenance programs again, so she shut the shard down, did a complete reboot of the system and is in the process of running scandisk and disk defrag again. Hopefully this will eliminate the problem and we will go back to minimal lag.

We appreciate your patience during all of this. Continue to bear with us and we will hopefully be back in full swing in short order.

Okay Ladies and Gentlemen there is now a crafter dungeon. You will find runic tools and LOTS of crafting resources in this dungeon. This dungeon gets harder as you go further and further into it. It is a single level dungeon, the entrance and exit are one way only but it is in Trammel so you can use your runebook, [myhouses command, or your travel book to get out if it gets to hairy for you.

A word of warning, you will need to hand loot these mobs because the take bag will not grab these runic tools. Also it is a good idea to either turn off resource collection (uncheck hides, logs, ores etc) on your [takeoptions or have the different storage keys and/or a bank bell when you go into this dungeon, otherwise you are going to get overloaded really fast in here if you dont. Make sure you bring an axe or hatchet to chop logs into boards for the wood storage key, and either a gold beetle, or portable forge to smelt the ores into ingots for the ingot storage key. Hides do not need to be cut before being placed on the tailor key so that is a plus.

I hope everyone finds it and enjoys, go to Trammel Wrong and start checking caves, you will know the entrance when you find it. If anyone finds any issues with the dungeon please let me know and I will try to get them all addressed as quickly as possible.

Poor Farmer John, it seems that a bunch of rabbits have ravaged his garden one time to many and he is at his wits end. He has vowed revenge on them once and for all. Farmer John is looking for anyone that is brave enough to go down the Rabbit Hole and destroy the rabbits for him.

Okay ladies and gents it is that time of year again Easter is only two weeks away.

We have placed spawners in 26 locations between Trammel and Felucca. These will be in farm areas, but not limited to brit farm lands. At these locations you will find what else??? BUNNIES!!!!!

Kill these fuzzy little abominations and bring me their tails!!! There are three levels of tails, 1pt tails 2pt tails and 3pt tails. Each tail is different color and tails are stackable depending on their points value.

There will be prizes for the following categories:

The one who has the most 1 pt tails
The one who has the most 2pt tails
The one who has the most 3pt tails

Any and all who enter will also recieve prizes.

This contest will end at 5 P.M. (eastern standard time) Easter Sunday. Hold on to your Bunny tails until that time.

Please do not page or pm staff asking to turn in your bunny tails as they will not be allowed to collect the tails from players.

At some time between midnight Saturday and 8 a.m. Easter Sunday I will place a special chest at my office and everyone can begin to turn in their bunny tail collections. I will also place a gate to my office in the gate house at that time so everyone can get there easily.

Place your bunny tails and a book with your name into a bag and place that into the chest. You are limited to one bag per account.

At 5 p.m. (est) that day I will remove the chest and will no longer accept entries in the contest.

I will then begin to count the tails and figure out who the winners are. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m. est and all prizes will be handed out at that time.

You do not need to be logged in to win, but you must turn your tails in or have someone turn them in for you during the stated collection times, early entries will not be accepted.

OMG you guys I am so sorry!!! It is 10:10 pm Monday and I crashed the shard!! I called Gwen and left her a message that I crashed it so she wil reboot it as soon as she can. If you had pets out or if you lost anything in the crash send me a PM and I will replace anything that you lost. I am sooooooo sorry!!

St. Patrick, known for leading the snakes out of Ireland, now lives outside of Luna. He has sinced wiled away his years in relative peace and tranquility, until recently that is. Over the years the snakes have worked to conspire against St. Patrick, to get back at him for what he did to them. One night while he was asleep they convinced a magician to open a gate directly into ole Pat's house, and they stole all his clothes along with the gilded flute that he used to trick them. Poor St. Pat is now left to wander around in his long johns. He has put a reward out for anyone that can retrieve his clothes and his flute from the snakes and return them to him.

Seek out St. Patrick south of Luna and get the poor guys clothes back for him before he catches a cold.

The leprechauns have been the stuff of legend for many generations. Though they are magical in nature, they are fairly helpless so they usually build their homes in underground caverns. Since they were not so good at defending themselves they have surrounded themselves with an elite rank of warriors and they surround themselves with magical barriers. These warriors, known as The Guardians of The Ancient Gold, have worked tirelessly to protect and defend the leprechauns and their gold for centuries from the evil that roams these lands.

A few days ago a horde of Orcs finally broke through the magical barriers and were able to open a trans-dimentional gateway to the underground lair of the leprechauns. They were unable to get away with the gold but they got something almost as valuable.

The Guardians of The Ancient Gold wear specially enhanced armor. This armor has been woven with magic spells that protects the warriors from almost all weapons and spells. The orcs have stolen a suit of this armor. Daniel O'Flannery needs you to retrieve this armor before the orcs are able to figure out how to get around the spells, leaving the Guardians and the leprechauns defenseless.

Seek out Daniel O'Flannery and assist him in this and he will reward you.
